Cavalli was the first to present sand-blasted pants in 1994. In 1994, Cavalli opened his first boutique in Saint Barth (French Caribbean), followed by one in Saint-Tropez and another in Venice.

His main line was sold in more than 50 countries around the world. RC Menswear launched in 2000. Cavalli opened the first cafe store in Florence in 2002. He updated it with his signature animal prints.

Soon after, the Just Cavalli cafe in Torre Branca was opened and another boutique opened on Via Della Spiga. Roberto Cavalli served as a judge at Miss Universe in 1977, where Eva Duringer was a participant.

Cavalli was presented with an Honorary Master Diploma of Fashion Management by Domus Academy Milan, during a ceremony.

He returned to his role as creative director for men the year after. Gianluca Brozzetti was fired and Carlo Di Biagio quit the fashion label. Cavalli approached Investcorp (a Persian Gulf investment firm) to buy a stake.
