8 Set of the Muppets Theater

The Phantom of the Opera and The Muppets don’t seem like projects you would normally associate with each other. You may remember that in one of The Muppets’ movies, the gang had the task of restoring the Muppet Theater. Instead of starting from scratch with a new expensive set, the producers were able to find one.

In 1924, the original theater was constructed for an adaptation of Phantom of the Opera. It was then put in storage until it became too old to be used again. It was able to survive another day when it was used in the puppet caper.
