Curry started her broadcasting career in 1978. Curry moved to KGW, an NBC affiliate in Portland, to become a reporter/anchor.
Curry, a reporter at KCBS-TV, moved to Los Angeles four years later.
Curry joined NBC News in the years that followed. From 1994 to 1997, she was a substitute anchor on Today for Matt Lauer.
She was a Today news anchor from 1997 to 2011.
Curry, Stone Phillips and Dateline NBC were named co-anchors in 2005. From 2005 to 2011, she was the primary substitute for Stone Phillips on NBC Nightly News.
Curry visited Iran in 2009 to interview Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the then-President. This was days before Ahmadinejad went to America to address the United Nations, General Assembly.
