Daniel Richard McBride was born in Statesboro, Georgia on the 29th of December 1976.  His mother Kathy Rudy and his stepfather, Daniel McBride, both work as civilian support at the US Marine Base, Quantico, VA.

He was born in Spotsylvania County in Virginia. He graduated from Courtland High School and then attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem.

Career

McBride starred as Fred Simmons in 2006’s low-budget comedy film “The Foot Fist Way”, which he co-wrote along with Jody Hill, Ben Best, and others.

In 2009, he was offered a professional baseball contract by the Pensacola Pelicans, a minor-league American Association of Independent Professional Baseball team.

He signed an endorsement agreement with K-Swiss and was the roadie in the Tenacious D video for “Roadie” (2010).

Two trailers for a Crocodile Dundee 2 were posted online in January 2018. The film was titled ‘Dundee, the Son of a Legend Returns to Home’. McBride was said to play Brian Dundee in the film, the son of Crocodile Dundee.

HBO ordered “The Righteous Gemstones” in late 2018 straight from McBride’s Rough House Pictures label.
