Walker’s senior year saw him average 18.2 points per game and 5.3 assists per game, earning him a place on the McDonald’s All-American Team.


Walker entered the NBA draft in 2011 on April 12. Walker was 9th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2011 NBA Draft.

In the same year, he signed a rookie scale contract with Bobcats. With the injury to point guard D. J. Augustin, he became their starting guard.

Walker was removed from the field for six weeks on January 28, 2015, after he successfully had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left leg.

Walker scored a record 30 points in the 99-95 win over Brooklyn Nets in 2016, which helped Charlotte to improve its record to 4-1 since 2000. He reached that milestone on November 11th, scoring 40 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists against the Toronto Raptors.
