The brilliant businessman was able to obtain the license to sell plane tickets online within a year. He also hired Jeffrey Skoll, an engineer who was proficient in the field, to help him with the ‘Auction Internet’.

After his initial choice of “echo bay”, ‘AuctionWeb’ was in use, and the site was renamed ‘eBay” in 1997. Auctions of items for sale reached an average of 800,000. per day during the same period.
