More than 50% of married couples end up getting divorced. While most people can keep their divorces private, celebrities and wealthy individuals can make things messy. There is nothing better after a difficult divorce than having millions (or even billions) of dollars to drown your sorrows and maybe even a house.

10 Lionel Richie & Diane Richie – $20 Million

Lionel Richie has married again in 2004. The singer and his second wife Diane Richie split after nine years of marriage. Dianne wanted $300,000 per month for clothes, manicures, and other personal services.

Diana demanded an additional $20,000 per year for plastic surgery. She was eventually awarded $20 million dollars along with the couple’s $5million mansions. This really hurt the artist and cost him a lot.
