This scene with the dog was one of the most heartbreaking scenes in “I Am Legend“. Robert (Smith) is attacked and infected by the mutant dog. His dog defends him, but unfortunately, he becomes infected as well. Did you ever wonder how that scene was shot? It only takes a man wearing a tight green suit and holding a prosthetic pet. Will Smith also has some incredible acting skills.

The original idea was to use real people as infected characters. However, the test results revealed that they looked more like “angry mimes” than the crew had anticipated. CGI was used to portray the creatures.
