Hicks began college at Sacramento City College.

Career

Hicks was selected by the Saints in round three of the 2012 NFL Draft. This was their first pick of the draft. He was the ninth Canadian Interuniversity Sport player selected in the NFL Draft and the second highest NFL draft pick in CIS history.

Hicks made 43 tackles and 4.5 bags in the 16th game of the 2014 season. Hicks played 15 games in 2014, with 42 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 passes defended. Hicks began the 2015 season playing three games with only three tackles.

Hicks was sold to the New England Patriots on September 30, 2015, for tight end Michael Hoomanawanui. December 20, 2015.

Hicks signed in 2016 a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears. Hicks’ debut as a Chicago Bear was September 11, 2016. He recorded 3 tackles, a forced fumble and made his first play against the Houston Texans.
