Favorite Quotes From Michael Jai White

“I feel as if I’ve missed my time because I recall the days when black people looked for the positives and lifted one another up. I feel sorry for those who live in the negative default setting. They filter out what’s positive, and that’s not a way to live.

“The first movie I ever saw was a blaxploitation movie. It was called Monkey Hustle. You can listen to the name. This is a blaxploitation flick. It featured incredible, larger-than-life photos of people who looked just like me. Or who I wanted to look like.”

“Just by natural means, I think in humor. I think in sketches or what have you. Every drama or action movie I have been in has required me to make an effort not to make it a comedy. I usually find myself in a snarky headspace before any action is called or after it is cut. It feels natural.”
