Zac Young was born in Portland, Maine, on the 18th of November 1982.

He moved to New York in 2003 to study at the Institute of Culinary Education. He graduated in 2006. While working as an executive pastry chef for the David Burke Group, David Burke Fabrick co-invented the PieCaken dessert.

Alexandra Guarnaschelli recognized Young’s talent in 2006 and she spent four years as a Pastry Chef at Butter Restaurant, her New York hot spot.

Young was one of the top ten pastry chefs in America in 2015. Young is well-known for his humorous take on American desserts. He graduated from the pastry and baking program and worked under Richard Capizzi and Sebastian Rouxel at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery.

Young joined David Burke Group as a pastry chef in 2012. Young is the partner and chairman of the group’s culinary advisory. He also directs the culinary operations, visions and inspirations for new projects.
